Good Day to you
I am Christina Walters
I was born and raised on a farm in the Swartland area near Malmesbury. I now live in Gordons Bay.
I try to communicate through art what Solzhenitsyn said in words: ‘Not everything has a name. Some things lead us into the realm beyond words… glimpse the inaccessible… and the soul cries out for it.
Also the Afrikaans writer Laurens van der Post referred to this phenomenon in his book ‘A Mantis carol’ - “Each one of us is aware of far more than he can ever express”.
I graduated with a Masters degree in plant physiology from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and whilst practising as an agricultural researcher I had art training with Catharina de Bliquy, Marie Stander (Stellenbosch) and Marriana Booyens (Stellenbosch), Vicky Thomas and Andries Gouws. At present I am a full time artist.
You are welcome to contact me regarding commission work
Preferred media: watercolour, oil, pastel, pencil, charcoal and mixed media
Regards,
Christina
